By "it," of course I mean "End of Time, part two." It's late here so I won't post a full review, but I just had to share one tiny reaction.

At the beginning, when Lord President Time Lord vaporized the dissenting Time Lord, I thought, "What the hell was that -- the Death Glove of Rassilon?"

And now I realize: OMG, that really was the Death Glove of Rassilon!!

So, it turns out that at least EoT pt. II gave me a laugh, albeit an unintended one.

I might do more of a reaction post later, but in case I never feel like revisiting this again here's the 3-bullet summation: 1) a few good scenes, 2) a lot of mess, 3) happy that the next season finale will be under Moffat and not RTD.

I called it a Magic Glove of Death(TM) because I had no idea, at the time I scribbled that particular note, that he was Rassilon...

My reaction can be summed up thusly: McGuffins, Bobbins and Plotholes!

McGuffins, Bobbins and Plotholes, oh my! :D

Yes, it did feel that way . . . I couldn't even follow the whole Time War / Time Lock / Time Diamond / Time Drums-in-the-Head / Time Gate McGuffinoplot -- I can't even critique it because I'm still so confused about what actually happened.

We were trying to figure out here if that really WAS Rassilon himself or if that was an insult (like calling someone Hitler)... it was, to say the least, not a little vague. :-P

Ooooh, that's an interesting idea. I just assumed it was really supposed to be Rassilon -- and by that point my brain was already overloaded with so many things that didn't make sense, it hardly even mattered.

Oh, yeah, we giggled for a while when The Glove of Rassilon/The Staff of Rassilon/ The Diamond of Rassilon turned out to really be ...of Rassilon :D

LOL! He really should've had more stuff! The Coronet of Rassilon, the Sash of Rassilon, the Ring of Rassilon . . . of course, that last might have turned him into a stone panel and transported him back to his tomb in the Death Zone, but then again the tomb thing seems to have gone by the wayside, along with that whole Immortality = Bad thing he used to have going on.

They really should've had him pick up and use a bunch of completely random items just for the hell of it, though. A black scroll, a harp, a pack of playing cards, a yo-yo . . . the Yo-Yo of Rassilon. Yeah, lots of missed opportunities. :D

OMG yes yes yes! The yo-yo of Rassilon!

I'd buy one... :)

Well, TBH, as long as at no time will we ever be subjected to The Unfinished Tea of Rassilon, I'm happy!

As for immortality = bad, you know what they say, what you see from here is not what you see from... possibly all these years of being stuck in The Tomb of Rassilon have changed his mind (if a little too late for Borusa's sake...) ;)

Well, who wouldn't want a Yo-Yo of Rassilon?

And maybe it was being stuck in the Tomb of Rassilon with Borusa that got him to change his mind . . . ; )

It is great, isn't it? Made by [profile] hhertzof and snaggable with credit to her. I only get 15 icons so I had it in storage, but after you and I got off on this thread I realized it had to come back into the rotation, so I dumped another icon to make room for it. :)
