Dirk Gently TV show

dbskylerSo BBC America has started advertising "Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency," and based on the ad, it looks terrible. I'm guessing that it's been shown in the UK already, so if you've seen it, is it any good?
I am a huge Douglas Adams fan, and I've read the books, so in my opinion, a good adaptation would have the same sense of humor as the books. The ad looks like it's for an actual detective show of some sort -- it's emphasizing corpses and cops, ugh.
EDIT: It turns out this is a brand new TV show, not a rebroadcast of the series that appeared in the UK. Whole new opportunity for it to be as terrible as the ad is promising!
