randomly generated fic rec

A randomly generated fic rec is simply my way of spreading the fic-love around. While the calufrax recommendations are great, there are too many stories that go unnoticed. This is my attempt to rectify that a little. To mix things up, and to keep myself from getting into a recommendation rut, I go to the Doctor Who Random Pairing Generator, here, then choose a fanfic story to recommend that is related to one or both of the characters that come up. If I can't think of a good story to recommend based on the first pairing of characters, I click again to get a new pairing. My only rule is I will not recommend a story that has already been recommended on calufrax, since that defeats the purpose of spreading recommendations around.
Randomly generated character: Susan Foreman
Fic: Thirteen Conversations About One Thing
Author: Amy Wolf
Characters: The Doctor (all thirteen of him), plus a canon character for each of the ten incarnations we know: Susan, Victoria, Sarah, Romana, Tegan, Peri, Ace, Grace, Jackie and Martha. And some OCs.
Rating: All ages
Spoilers: Through season 3 and the TV Movie.
Length: 6792 words in thirteen chapters.
The author's summary and my reasons for the rec contain a spoiler for the TV Movie, so I will put both behind a spoiler cut:
Author's summary: "I'm half-human, on my mother's side."
Why the rec: It's more than just an exploration of that hotly debated little plot device from the TV Movie. Whether you're on the "it's canon" or "it's not canon" side of the fence, this story is still a wonderful glimpse into the life of the Doctor and his interactions with the humans he comes across. And the ending is wonderful.
