writing!

Up until this past weekend it had been around a month since I had worked on any fic, and around four months since I had written anything and posted it. I am happy to report that I am finally back to writing! Mostly I've been working on my WIP OF DOOM of maybe-this-won't-be-so-bad-after-all, which is slowly but surely starting to churn again (the next chapter now has 626 words in it). Also, I randomly started to read an old humor piece that I had started in oh, round about May, which I had then abandoned because I didn't think it was any good. However, now that I've re-read it, I think that it's actually pretty funny. So, I am currently working on writing the last 25% of it and generally cleaning the whole thing up. If all goes well, I will be posting that in the not-too-distant future.

Best of all, I just feel good. There's something about writing that I find really therapeutic, and it's so nice to be over this latest writing block.

I was so grateful for fic_rush for getting me out of the doldrums as well, I'm still rolling along and it feels so nice to get it closer to being done. Congrats on your progress, let's hear it for the end of a writer's block...er, block!

Yay! Glad to hear you are writing again. Is that, by any chance, Turn Again that you are finishing?

I'm so happy that you're writing again and making progress! It really is incredibly annoying when a creative muse isn't stirring. I'm still upset that I haven't written anything for myself since starting high school.... and I'm a Senior now! ;_;

Good luck with finishing the rest of your writin! I'll definitely be here to read :D

Have you tried just writing a drabble or a ficlet? Sometimes that's a lot easier than attempting to write a longer fic. But even so, if I could draw like you, I wouldn't worry about the writing . . . :D

I write little snippets of stuff that comes to mind, but its never enough to be a viable piece... the little bits always sound like they should be part of a a bigger piece, and whatever I write has a tendency to be in the exact same tone -_-'

if I could draw like you, I wouldn't worry about the writing

.....I know a picture's worth a thousand words and tell stories in of themselves, but seriously I find stories more enjoyable. You can look at artwork, fine, but stories follow a plotline or a thought process and I personally find reading something that's been written out more rewarding, provided it was written well.

Hooray!! \O/

*uses her Martha squee icon 'cos she doesn't get to use it often enough*

Currently I'm being attacked by fanfic plot bunnies - which is most disconcerting after 7 months of original fic!

Well, you obviously have to find more places to squee, then! Is being attacked by plot bunnies a good thing or a bad thing? Although actually, if it leads to more fic, I'm going to declare it a good thing. : )

By the way, guess what was advertised on BBC America as premiering this weekend? A little show called Law & Order: UK. I'm thinking that I might have to give it a try, if for no other reason than to see Freema again.

Actually, I just need more reasons to squee (such as people being lovely instead of so many of them being a$$hats! Boss included!)

I could do without the fanfic bunnies, actually - I want to be writing my original fic!!

Ah yes! Emilia - the lead writer and co-producer has been Tweeting about that. Do watch it! I found it sucked me in, even though it's not the sort of show I'd normally watch. And Freema is fab in it - and her chemistry with Ben Daniels, who plays her immediate boss, makes me squee!

Hurray! I'm so pleased for you - and yes, there is something so good about writing that you don't get any other way.

:-)

I look forward to some more Turn Again, but even more so the funny one - your funny stories are usually brilliant! (I think of To The Rescue, just for starters.)

Turn Again will probably still be awhile, but the humor piece might be done in a week or so . . . kind of depends on how inspired I can get for this last part. I really enjoy writing humor, so I'm glad when other people like the results!
