Time to get down all of my current thoughts on where S5 of Doctor Who is going. While this is mainly for myself, I'll post publicly because I think people might enjoy reading it, but I'm going to disable comments because most everyone else is on the finale already and therefore can't really comment without spoiling other than "hmm, interesting," and there's not much point to that.

Okay, so what do we know?

-- There's a crack in the universe
-- The crack is caused by some sort of explosive space/time event that happens on the day of Amy's wedding (now the day the wedding was supposed to be)
-- "The Doctor in the TARDIS doesn't know," but others do
-- Something that appears to be a piece of the TARDIS was found as shrapnel in the crack
-- The crack emits light that erases people from ever having existed
-- Amy does not know about important events, such as the Daleks invading Earth during "Journey's End"

Things we suspect:

-- There is a later version of the Doctor traveling around. We're not sure of all that he's up to, but he did visit Amy and tell her that she had to remember what he said when she was a child, and also that she had to trust him.

Things that may or may not be significant:

-- The Doctor's been having trouble steering, especially around Leadworth.
-- Amelia heard the TARDIS on the night she waited for the Doctor to return.

Hmmm. Well, I don't have any grand theories, but I do have some thoughts. First, it's interesting that upon being confronted with the crack again, the Doctor believes that the way to sort things out is to invite Rory along. Why? He obviously seems to feel that Amy and Rory's marriage is in jeopardy, and he knows it's related to the date of the crack creation, but does he believe that the crack is caused by the marriage not happening? Why would that be? And if that was the case, then what does Rory's death now do to this situation?

What's the real connection between Amy and the crack?

Is the crack caused (or associated with) the TARDIS exploding?

If the Doctor is indeed going back on his timeline, what does he accomplish by doing so? Has he been doing things in other stories besides "Flesh and Stone"? What? And what was the significance of asking Amy to remember, and telling her to trust him?

If the Doctor in the TARDIS doesn't know, then does that mean there is a Doctor *not* in the TARDIS who does know? Is this related to the TARDIS blowing up?

Who does River kill? Is it the Doctor? Is it one version of the Doctor? Does that cause the crack, or heal it?

Okay, and now I should re-label this "question post" instead of speculation post because I realize I don't have any speculation at all, just a bunch of questions. I really have no idea where this is all going, but knowing Moffat, I suspect that all of these things will get explained in the end.
