The state of the weekend:

-- Just finished another round of [community profile] fic_rush. It was great to see so many of my flist there, even though in most cases it was me reading your posts after-the-fact since I wasn't around during the same hours. It's weird how you can forget how far apart we all live until someone is posting about waking up shortly after you've gone to bed!

-- Speaking of [community profile] fic_rush, I worked on another [profile] 50ficlets ficlet which is kinda sorta finished, depending on whether I want to declare it so or not. Basically there's stuff there that I could expand and work on, or else I could call it a ficlet and post it. I don't want to get too hung up on the quality of my ficlets since part of the original point was to approach these as writing exercises and allow myself to go back and re-work the best ones, but I do feel that this particular ficlet is still pretty far off the mark from where I would like it. On the other hand, if I keep trying to turn my ficlets into polished pieces, I am never ever going to get through all 50. Well, maybe I'll give this one a little bit more time and work and see what happens.

-- Finally got to see "Amy's Choice" and I've watched it 3 times already. Non-spoilery summation is that I loved it. I am also finally loving the new TARDIS. More to come in an official reaction post later, after further processing.

I've been wondering whether you'd seen it yet!

And thank you to you and [livejournal.com profile] lost_spook for encouraging me to [livejournal.com profile] fic_rush - I now have 2/3 of chapter 3 of my original fic written!

You're very welcome -- I'm glad you like the comm! It can be hard to fit in the time, but it's such a great, positive place, and I always find it worthwhile even if I can only do it for a few hours on a busy weekend. Congrats on the great progress on your fic! I'm still so impressed that you're writing that.

I confess I'm rather impressed (and amazed and slightly terrified) myself that I'm writing it!

Seems you've been productive this weekend! I personally hope to see that sorta-finished ficlet sometime soon.

Good to know you've seen and liked the ep! Crazily enough last night when my dad was flipping channels I discovered that we in fact DO get BBCA (I was going "What what WHAT!?" when I suddenly heard the theme song), but only on the TV in our house that has the cable box..... which is also the TV I never watch because my grandfather is perpetually watching that one.

Yay for getting BBCA! Doctor Who is of course my favorite show on the channel, but it has lots of other interesting shows, too. Although I have to laugh at their latest acquisition of Star Trek:TNG re-runs. That's not exactly a BBC (or even a British) show, even if it does have Patrick Stewart in it.

What cable company do you have? I have Comcast, and their free "on demand" service has the latest Doctor Who eps -- if you have Comcast, maybe you can find a time when your grandfather isn't using the TV to check it out.
