And I don't mean "on my TV" as in I'm playing a DVD, I mean it's actually being broadcast by BBC America! It's the First Doctor episode "The Aztecs." I've already seen it, but it's on my TV! In all its glorious black-and-whiteness! Also, there's a logo in the upper right-hand corner of a TARDIS and "50 years."

Hurrah!!!!!!!!

Are they going to broadcast one Classic Who episode for every Doctor? I saw something about a "Doctors revisited" special, but I assumed it was going to be another one of BBCA's frankly disappointing retrospective shows with clips and inane commentary. But an actual episode is a wonderful surprise!

hurrah! and the aztecs is a good choice! i was a bit disappointed that the BFI who were showing them on the big screen went for 1/4 brilliant, 3/4s very dull '100,000BC'. aztecs would have been a paying for ticket type event.

I read something somewhere (hah, not much help there) about them doing a multi-Doctor retrospective, in the form of running one full adventure for each Doctor, but I don't remember what kind of schedule it's supposed to have. Weekly, maybe? Apparently they're doing a long multi-month lead-in to the 50th anniversary in November.

Yeesh. 50th anniversary! I suddenly feel a little old. o_O

I think I saw something on [livejournal.com profile] who_at_50? \o/ for the First Doctor on your TV. That is amazing. I don't think he's been on mine except DVD-wise since 1992, or whenever it actually was they last did repeats.
