yay for old technology
Jun. 28th, 2009 12:16 amSo BBC America broadcast "The Next Doctor" here tonight, and I recorded it two ways -- first, with my relatively new DVR, and second, with my decidedly old VCR, using this thing that's called videotape. (As in actual tape. Anyone remember that?)
Guess which worked?
And okay, sure, the videotape recording isn't "digital," but it's, you know, there. Which the DVR recording is not. Or at least, not all the way through, because it cut out before the end, and this was despite the fact that it correctly identified the show as being broadcast to 10:15. Problem is, the show actually ran to 10:19. But I always put extra leeway on my VCR recordings, so the videotape picked up the whole thing.
Sometimes old ways are still the best ways.
