one week into writing chapter two . . .

. . . of "Turn Again," and I have passed the 1500 word mark. I'm guessing I'm about a third of the way through, although it's hard to tell how long (or short) some of the remaining scenes will turn out to be. In general though the writing seems to be going more quickly than for chapter one, at least for now.

I re-watched some SJA this morning to get freshly "primed" on writing the SJA characters, which was a relief after having to endure "Turn Left" again in my research for chapter one. The advantages of writing a crossover!

I also realized this morning that I'm very lucky that there isn't a lot in canon to pinpoint exactly when the SJA episodes take place as compared to the DW episodes. For plot reasons, my story takes place after the end of series (season) one in SJA, which means I'm therefore asserting that all of SJA series one took place before "Runaway Bride" in DW. Which doesn't seem too implausible on the face of it, but then the start of SJA series two obviously takes place during DW series four . . . so that means all of DW series three, and some of series four, takes place during the unbroadcast time between SJA series one and two. But given that DW series three only took up three days or something like that in linear time, I think it does all sort of work. Anyway, that's my timeline and I'm sticking to it.
