In the middle of watching season two of "Downton Abbey," and omg, Violet Crawley is such a wonderful character! I adore her. I don't always (often?) agree with her, but I absolutely adore her.
I love Dame Maggie anyway - she's always good for a laugh if she's playing sarky women - and her sniping with Penny Wilton's Isobel Crawley is especially epic!
(Have you seen The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel yet? She's fabulous in that - although Dame Judi and Bill Nighy steal the movie!)
I'm on, hmm. There don't seem to be episode titles for this show. I just finished part 7 of season two, and there's apparently just one more part? Just one more DVD, anyway, which includes part 8 plus the Christmas special.
I've finished this DVD, so I will now have to wait again until I can get the next one from Netflix. And oh no, that's the last DVD they have!!!! Does that mean I'll be caught up? Have you guys seen season three yet?
Oh, you are pretty much at the end, then. :-) And, yes, you'll be caught up. They're filming S3 at the moment, I think. Presumably, it'll be back on in the autumn again.
Have you seen Gosford Park already? If not, you could use that to counter some of the withdrawal symptoms.
Yes, I ended up doing a big marathon of it today since I had the DVD and some unexpected free time. There were lots of other things I should've been doing instead, actually, but I needed a break, and this was perfect.
Aw. A reward after your application! I'm glad you had something nice like Downton to hand.
I love Gosford Park. It was because of that I was hopping up and down with impatience waiting for DA to finally arrive. ITV kept saying it was coming for about 2 years. Gosford Park is set later, so it's more cynical, because by that time everyone's hanging onto a way of life that they actually know has passed, whereas in Downton it's just at that point, and nobody really quite knows that yet. But Maggie Smith is present and correct, (and there's Helen Mirren, Eileen Atkins, Michael Gambon... well, it's one of those casts where everyone's pretty famous and great.)

ETA: Which episode are you on? Because she does get only more awesome as the series goes on...

I haven't seen Gosford Park! That's a good idea.
