Some ramblings on a couple of end-of-December things:

-- I have failed dismally at my December WIP challenge. My official count of added words for the fic is 120, and I said I would write 1000 more words. It looks like there won't be an official WIP challenge for January, but I think that's just as well. I think a fic_rush in January might be more helpful, however. *crosses fingers*

-- I've been having fun reading through Yuletide stories even though I wrote none and received none. (Funny how that works.) I've found some especially great stories through the rec posts -- when the same story keeps getting recced by different people, there's a reason for that!

-- I've been fooling around with prompts and ideas for [community profile] fandom_stocking, but I haven't had luck with actual writing. I might be able to pull through with one or two short pieces before reveal on the 6th (yay for a January reveal!), but if you don't get anything from me, know in advance that it's not personal; it's the muse, who gave me one specific fic and then left on vacation.

-- Speaking of vacation, I'll be away soon for the long weekend. So if I don't get the chance to say it later, hope you all have a very happy new year!

Happy New Year...

I did notice there hadn't been a fic_rush in December after all... I'm relieved as I should be able to do the next one...

[livejournal.com profile] lost_spook kindly linked me to the Law & Order: UK yuletide fics - I'll be interested to read them. (Bet no one wrote Alesha/James though...)

I made a huge big searchable spreadsheet of all of the Doctor Who prompts on fandom_stocking (though... I kind of stopped after it got over a 100 entries). I had such big plans and I've written... um... two stories now? face!palm

Oh well, still six days to go.
