That was a really awesome [community profile] fic_rush! It was so great to see so many of my flisters over there, plus old regulars and new people. Looking forward to the next one!

However, I will be forever wary of confetti now, which is all [personal profile] thisbluespirit's fault. ; )

I got to play "host" for 14 of the hour posts, which was way more fun than I would've expected. The hours literally flew by. If anyone's considering maybe volunteering to take a shift for some future session, I highly recommend it.

About the only downside to hosting for me was that I got zero writing done during that time. This is all my fault, though, as I am a) easily distracted, and b) very good at finding ways to not work on my WIP OF DOOM. It turned out that modding a shift of fic_rush was an excellent method for accomplishing "b."

However, I am happy to report that my hours today were more productive, and I accomplished the following major milestones:

Hour 44: Opened up the file that contains WIP OF DOOM. Yes, this was a major accomplishment, as I've been afraid that it would bite me for some time now.
Hour 45: Began re-reading WIP OF DOOM.
Hour 47: Began planning out what should happen next. Yes, I already have loads of notes on what should happen next, but this was the "no, really, now that I am actually going to try to write this, what should happen next" planning.
Hour 48: Wrote something! As in, actually added words to the fic. 377 of them, to be exact. And you know what? I even think they might be kind of good.

I am now going to officially stop calling this my WIP OF DOOM, and instead refer to it as my WIP of maybe-this-won't-be-so-bad-after-all. Fic_rush conquers again!

Thanks! And double thanks for all the support and encouraging words. I cannot even express how helpful that's been.

It was a great fic_rush! And well done on actually getting bck to Turn Again. :-D

And I really can't take the blame for the poisoned confetti - I'd been watching Victoria Wood, so it was all her fault.

There is nothing better than fic_rush for tackling an old, scary WIP.

And funny, but I don't recall Victoria Wood posting about how my confetti might be poisoned, so I really don't see how it could be her fault. ; )

I really don't know why I've had such major avoidance issues with this story, but it's a great feeling of accomplishment to have gone back to it at last.
