I can't believe it took me this long, but I have finally listened to the commentary on the DVD boxset for "Stolen Earth" and "Journey's End."
It was interesting to hear how RTD's ideas for the episodes came about, and fun to find out how many times David Tennant had to change clothes for "Journey's End" (4-5 times per day in case you're wondering), but my favorite parts were when David and RTD were fanboying over Elisabeth Sladen. They did it a lot -- David especially -- and it was just so sweet, and it gave me a warm feeling because I feel the same way about her and I love that they do, too.
RTD talked about how he could have had a moment between Rose and Jack about Jack's immortality -- and that he probably should have -- but instead he thought it was more important to put in the Sarah/Davros moment referencing "Genesis of the Daleks." Well, of course that was more important! I mean, is there any doubt? ; )
David just kept angling for an invitation to show up on SJA. He said he would do the voice of Mr. Smith, for example. And he just went on about what a huge fan he is of Lis Sladen.
As I've said before, ever since SJA was created I've been hoping that Tom Baker would come on to play the Doctor. But you know what? Having David Tennant come on to play the Doctor would be just fine, too. So here's hoping that David gets his wish.
