Okay, so I posted chapter one of my fic "Turn Again" about a week and a half ago, and tonight I was working out some timeline stuff and suddenly realized that I have a major, major screw-up on my hands.

Yes, I have dived head-first into the biggest disaster that can happen when you post chapters as you go along: discovering a huge mistake in a chapter that's already been posted.

Now don't get me wrong, I didn't mess up my plot or anything like that, I just completely forgot about one tiny little detail in regards to when the events of "Turn Left" take place. Or more precisely, when the events of "Runaway Bride" take place, that pesky little episode covered at the beginning of "Turn Left."

I hope those of you who've read chapter one have no idea what I'm talking about right now, or are just now catching on, and haven't been wondering all this time why there was no mention of that in the fic. And for those of you who haven't caught on yet, I can sum it up in two words:

Christmas Eve.

Oops.

I completely, completely forgot this little fact when I was mapping out events for chapter one. And although I watched "Turn Left" again while writing the chapter, that date still didn't lodge in my brain. I really don't know why not, unless it was my Jewish heritage coming out. I don't do Christmas, so I guess I just mentally . . .skipped over it. Or something.

Okay, so -- what do I do now? I think my options are: 1) rewrite and re-post chapter one (which I hate to do, for multiple reasons); 2) ignore it and hope no one notices (or is too nice to say anything); 3) hand-wave it away by saying that my fic opens on Dec. 26th because it took UNIT that long to get around to waking Sarah up in the middle of the night. Um, yeah.

Any votes? Or any other suggestions?
