I love the Tenth Doctor. I really do. He's amazing to watch, especially when he's at one of those extremes of an emotional spectrum (manic / happy; fierce / angry; lonely / sad) and he's just all-around engaging and charismatic and everything the Doctor should be.
But I've been re-watching "Horror of Fang Rock," a Fourth Doctor / Leela story that I haven't seen in decades -- I remember who the mysterious alien turns out to be, but as for everything else it's as if I'm watching it for the first time because I really don't know what's going to happen next. And as I'm watching this "new" episode, I'm noticing the way the Fourth Doctor acts -- what he says, what he does, the expressions on his face -- and it's like coming home again.
This is the Doctor.
Sorry, Tennant. But you're still runner-up.
