If the purpose of your writing is for your own enjoyment and you enjoy your own writing, then by definition you can't be a "bad" writer -- you're accomplishing your purpose. If other people also enjoy reading your stories, then that's even better -- and other people do enjoy your stories, so there! ; ) Thinking about an audience is part of my usual writing process, but what works for me wouldn't necessarily work for you. If you do decide to give it a shot sometime, though, I'd be curious to hear how it went.
