I was so hoping that I could retire this icon today, but apparently it was not to be . . .

I understand why the California Supreme Court ruled the way they did. I believe that the majority (damn, hopefully all of them) recognized Prop 8 as being morally reprehensible, but in the end they had to rule on its legality, not its morality.

But it still sucks.

Yeah, it blows. Gays and lesbians need to put their own proposition on the ballot in 2010. Lets see what the people have to say then with a differently worded initiative. You know, one that's easy to understand and has truth as content.
