I'll be interested to hear what you will think of "The Orville" after having seen season 2.

I'm wondering if I should just go ahead and jump to season 2 now. I feel like season 1 has promise, but it's not gelling yet.

I don't know how you define "being fannish"

Good question! Like you, I think the need to read and write fanfic is a great indicator of my having crossed the line into "fannishness" about a show. There are definitely shows that I enjoy and look forward to, but don't feel at all "fannish" about: The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel is a good example. The season ended, and I'm not thinking about the characters, I'm not on edge waiting for the next season, I'm not seeking out fanfic, and I have no urge to write any fanfic. But I still think it's a great show.

I don't know, you can't force it. It either happens or it doesn't but when it does, it's wonderful. Literally butterflies in the belly.

I'm really missing the excitement of looking forward to the next Doctor Who episode. I remember seeking out more stuff from David Tennant because I loved his portrayal so much, and then going to London (very far away from here!) to see him and Catherine Tate in "Much Ado About Nothing" and having a fantastic time. So I totally get your late-night searches of Seth MacFarlane material.

I'd never even heard of "The Americans." Just looked it up. Hmmm. I'm not usually into spy stories, but I'll think about checking it out.

And LOL, yes, "Sliders" is a product of its time. I enjoyed it, but it never caught the "fannish" spark for me. Earlier seasons were better than the later ones, I thought.

I have not seen "Black Mirror." I don't really like dark stuff. Do you think I'd enjoy it? I have been actively avoiding "Chernobyl" because while I'm sure it's incredibly well done, I definitely don't want to watch a show about a nuclear disaster. I also didn't watch "Game of Thrones" because of all the violence. What's "The Boys"?

Not sure if we've talked about "Stargate SG-1." I tried it out ages ago, but never got into it. Too military for my taste. I know there was also "Stargate Atlantis" but I never saw any of it.
