I just re-watched "The Girl Who Waited" and it made me cry. Even though I knew exactly what was coming. Damn, that's such a good episode.

Fruit flies are mostly gone. I have two left. They refuse to go into the fruit fly trap, and they refuse to die. Hopefully they're not a male and a female, waiting to repopulate.

My garbage disposal is broken because I put too much ice down it to clean it as a method of getting rid of the fruit flies. Oops. On the other hand, it was old and had been making wonky noises, so perhaps it was on the verge of breaking anyway.

Almost time for the Scottish independence referendum. Best wishes to all of my UK friends on a good outcome, whichever way the vote goes.

Aw. Hurrah for good episodes of TV! And for different good episodes of TV for all, if that makes sense. (That's why we have to have a mixture including the ones we don't like, because somebody else will be thrilling over them.) :-)

Hmm, the fruit flies that wouldn't die, not so good. Let's hope they're just the equivalent of fruit fly octogenarians who are super tough and can't be killed till they decide to go, which should be soon, because fruit flies.

Oh dear... and it's beginning to sound like the old woman who swallowed a fly...

Absolutely! That's the marvelous thing about Doctor Who -- it's so varied, I truly believe that there's something in it for everyone. Just not necessarily something in it for everyone all the time. ; ) But meanwhile, we all get to be fans of the same show, even if we have wildly different tastes, like for example [personal profile] pitry and I, who rarely agree on episodes, but for some reason often agree on fanfic. :)

Yes, I'm about ready to donate those fruit flies to science. Except if I could catch them, I would just have them live their immortal lives outside.

Yes!! Exactly!

Can you squash the two fruit flies with rolled up newspaper? (Why, yes, I would hurt a fly. But only under extreme provocation, and it sounds like they've asked for it. ;-p)
