Yes, I've actually done some writing to give you an update about! Which is fantastic, because ever since I posted "To the Rescue" back in early March, I had pretty much not done any writing. Not sure exactly why not, except that I had my Doctor Who / SJA crossover WIP "Turn Again" sitting there as the fic to work on, and I had run out of steam on it. Again, not sure why I ran out of steam -- it was fully outlined before I posted chapter one -- but it happened all the same. And then I got myself into a situation where I felt guilty over the fact that I wasn't working on it, and that made working on it feel like something I was supposed to do instead of something that was fun to do, which meant I was even less inclined to work on it. But I really wanted to get myself to get back to it -- as I said, I know what happens, and I want to share it -- and this weekend I finally made my breakthrough.

The breakthrough happened during this incredibly awesome communal writing event called [community profile] fic_rush. Basically, it was a group of people all working on whatever they wanted to write over the weekend, and checking in with each other on an hourly basis to report how they were doing -- successes and failures -- and to give each other inspiration, encouragement and support. No commitment was necessary -- we were free to join in for whichever hours were convenient, then drop out to go do laundry or sleep or whatever, then join in again when we next felt like writing. The writers were great, the mods were fantastic, and it was a very enjoyable event. They're going to put it on again at some point, and if it sounds at all interesting to you, I encourage you to give it a try. As I said, there's no commitment, so you can always drop out if it turns out to not be your thing.

As for me, I overcame my writer's block and wrote 2,184 words over the two days! (Yes, for me that is impressive. I'm a slow writer.) I'm also now very close to being finished with the chapter, which means it might actually get posted sometime in the not-so-far-away future!
