-- I am officially and completely hooked on Ringer. This is all [personal profile] ghost2's fault. Worst of all, I am now all caught up on episodes and have to wait a week to find out what happens next.

-- I saw the first episode of the last series of Sarah Jane Adventures. It wasn't as hard to watch as I feared it would be; while I started out feeling sad again about Lis' loss, I fairly quickly got into the show. Also, I'm glad that the work is getting aired. Unfortunately, I didn't like the episode itself very much. I may write more on this later.

-- Doctor Who finale!!!!! I spent the entire episode yelling "ahhhhhhhhhhh!" at my TV screen. (That's kind of my mix of "oh no!" and "OMG!" and "how is the Doctor going to get out of this?") And then I wondered how they were possibly going to wrap it all up in one episode. But wrap it up they did, and very nicely, too. Loved it. I will probably write more on this later.

I see from your comment on the sarahjane_fic post that you don't like Sky.

Do think everyone's rather over-reacting to her since (a) we barely know her, and (b) the season will prematurely cut short anyway owing to Lis' death preventing the final two eps from being filmed, so who knows where they were going with that...

Yeah, I agree, we're never going to know how it would've turned out. I didn't like Luke much in the beginning, but now I think he's great. Anyway, it's all moot now, isn't it? We should stop worrying about where they were going, and simply try to enjoy the last SJA episodes we have left.

I have no plans to do any worrying. I'm not worried!!

I'm quite happy to enjoy Lis' last stories, and don't see why other people have to try to stir up hate. (Reminds me to much of the worst of the Rosefen after Martha joined the TARDIS - and that makes me angry.)

I don't think people have been stirring up hate, have they? I can see why that would bother you though, especially if it reminds you of what you saw with Martha.

Well what do *you* call it when someone makes a post, claiming the new character has been created to be hated (and says that they hate said character)? Because *I* call that stirring up hate.

It ought to be obvious to anyone with the tiniest bit of common sense that OF COURSE Sky hasn't been created to be hated. On SJA we don't hate people, especially not other children. We get angry, and we sort out problems, but we don't hate.

I actually thought that the OP was looking for a discussion, not a character-bashing session. (If I had thought it was all about character bashing, I would have stayed away.) I went back and re-read that post and the thread that resulted, and I thought the discussion was actually very good. I agree though that the OP could have framed things a lot better.

Maybe the OP was hoping for a bashing session and didn't get it? I'm not too good at picking up on things like that. I honestly don't think there was success at stirring up hate, though, at least not on that thread.

I think the OP did want a bashing session, judging by the way the post was worded. I've re-read it three times and I still can't see what else they were intending despite the claim to be wanting 'intelligent discussion' - if you want intelligent discussion you do NOT insist that a character has been created to be hated, not when said character is put into the hero's home from the outset. (If the character is introduced as a bad guy, then yes, but that's not how Sky's been introduced.)

At the end of last night's Ringer, I was like, "Nooo! I have to wait a whole week to find out what happens now!" It's one of the most unpredictable shows I've seen in a while, which I love. With too many other series, I watch the first scene and I already know how it will end. Ringer is my favorite new show, and I've checked out all the new stuff so far this season.

I haven't seen SJA yet, but it's on my (long) list.

Ringer is incredible. I honestly don't know if they can sustain it over the longterm, but for now, I'm hugely enjoying the ride. You'd think they'd move more slowly so as to space out the big reveals, but no. It makes me wonder if there's an even bigger plot waiting in the wings.

SJA started? excellent! Well, not excellent if it's not as good, seeing as I loved series 4, but still, excellent!

Yep, it's started! As I said, I didn't care much for the first episode -- although it wasn't terrible -- but the previews for next week looked very interesting.
