Take a look at this amazing picture:

Isn't it AWESOME?
I have wasted an amazing amount of time trying to identify as many robots as I can in it. Here's what I have so far (probably showing off my age here more than a little bit):
1) The robot from Lost in Space
2) Gort from The Day the Earth Stood Still
3) The Terminator
4) Brian the Brain from one specific episode of Space:1999 (I think this might win the prize for most obscure robot!)
5) Dot Matrix from Spaceballs
6) Bill and Ted robots from Bill and Ted's Bogus Journey
7) Kryten from Red Dwarf
8) C3PO
9) One of those other weird robot things from one of the newer Star Wars movies
10) A Battlestar Galactica new-style Cylon
11) A waiter robot from Sleeper (or else Woody Allen. It's hard to tell.)
12) Bender from Futurama
13) Mo from Wall-E
14) Cybermen!
15) Peace from Wizards
16) The Tin Man from The Wizard of Oz
17) A Dalek! (A real one, too. No Day-glo colors.)
18) Marvin the Paranoid Android
19) Old-style Cylon from the original Battlestar Galactica
20) The robot maid from The Jetsons
21) Muffit!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (For those who don't know, that's the robot dog in the original Battlestar Galactica. It was played by a chimpanzee. I'm not making that up.)
22) New K-9 (you know, the weird-looking version for the spinoff series)
23) Wall-E
24) Original K-9 (that is, Mark I, II, III, or IV)
25) Tom Servo from MST3K
26) Twiki from Buck Rogers in the 25th Century
27) R2D2
28) A scutter from Red Dwarf
And that's all I've got so far. Anyone care to add?

Date: 2011-08-20 11:08 pm (UTC)And the little Boston Terrier one right in front of R2-D2 is from the "Astro Boy" movie. And the clockwork owl from Ray Harryhausen's original "Clash of the Titans" is a little ways above Marvin. E.V.E. from "Wall-E" and Bender from "Futurama" right next to each other behind the Dalek. Wall-E himself is right behind and to the left of Orig!K-9.
Of course there are a lot more that I might recognize at some point if I'd seen their canon or if I were a bit more sure of my fannish osmosis... as it is, I'm only quite sure of the Terminator because of that one T-shirt, the "I'll Be Bach" one. o_O

This image really needs to be annotated.

Date: 2011-08-21 04:36 am (UTC)- there's one from the Heavy Metal movie: http://mimg.ugo.com/201101/1/9/3/163391/cuts/heavy-metal-robot_480_poster.jpg
- the Robin Williams movie Bicentennial Man
- way over on the right, the boxy Quark robots from Doctor Who -- the Patrick Troughton era! "The Dominators", I think it was.
- the little black servo-robot from the original Star Wars movie
- I thought I saw the Robot from Tom Baker, "Robot", but I may have been wrong and I can't find it again
By the way, Robby the Robot was originally from "Forbidden Planet" before he was recycled into "Lost in Space".
I'm disappointed not to see ORAC, or a Stargate Replicator, or Oldbot from Brewster Rockit.

I'm ashamed to admit that I haven't see "The Dominators," so I don't know Quark robots. I also couldn't recognize Kamelion, but I've since looked up what he looks like.

Date: 2011-08-21 02:08 pm (UTC)I've never seen "The Dominators" either, but pictures of the Quarks were pretty memorable -- one of the most awkward, clumsy, non-threatening monsters evar.
