I think I'm a bad audience for remakes, because I always compare. I have the same problem when I watch movies that were originally books. You would've hated sitting next to me during "Lord of the Rings" -- I kept squirming, and muttering "That's different, that's very different, and what the hell have they done to [fill in the blank]?"
The American Being Human does seem to be trying to take the basic premise and start fresh from there -- hence the different character names and different plotline already. (George -- excuse me, Josh -- has a sister now.) So I might be able to accept it as a new show. It's harder though because UK Being Human is so recent, and of course still ongoing. At least with the remake of Battlestar Galactica, it had been a couple of decades.
Good point about the WIP challenge. It's not as if there are any dire consequences to failing the challenge. Maybe I should give it a shot.
