Actually, the point was that Amy "had the Universe pouring into her head" from the crack in time, her brain functioned like the Pandorica which preserved the universe as it was, so if *she* could remember something, it would be brought back.... or something along those lines. "Ponds" implies Rory could've, but he didn't remember the Doctor until Amy did first.

The logic isn't necessarily sound but hey, the logic in Doctor Who is rarely completely sound.
