This is a mini fic_rush post that will contain spam, mentions of alien fish, and possibly also reports of myself and/or other people making progress on their fics over the weekend. Have at it!

Go, go, go! Although you probably don't need that encouragement, as you always seem to be able to do some writing. :D

Heh, thanks.

Though right now I'm actually reading - doing fic research and harrumphing at the total lack of an index in this book. Any publisher who issues a non-fiction book without an index should be smacked about the head with a wet alien fish!

24 hours is actually a fast turnaround, at least in my beta experience! But no matter when I send it, there really won't be a rush to get it back to me. It won't hold up my work for the next part of the fic, and I'm not going to post it yet anyway. So if you're feeling too tired or sore, feel free to put it aside until you're in the mood to take it on.

Yes!! It's making me waste time in trying find the info I want by skim-reading entire chapters, instead of allowing me to go directly to page X!

I have to agree with [personal profile] thisbluespirit, 8,500 words in a weekend is astounding! Especially if they're all words that you think you will end up keeping. Well done!!

2000-ish words on the same thing? That sounds like useful writing to me!

And hmmm, Yuletide procrastination. I didn't have that problem last year -- I was so freaked out about the deadline, I worked on it from day one. It's good that you know exactly what you want to write, but not so good that you seem unmotivated to start. But you're a very productive writer, so I'm sure that once you get to it, you'll crank it out very quickly!

:-)

Actually, I have made a start in rough, long-hand, a week ago, and have a plot synposis drafted out - I'm not being quite as casual as I'm making it sounds. I want to let that stew, then immerse myself in the fandom and go for it. I write much better closer to the deadline! I just need to get on with it a bit now, in case rl interferes and I wind up in trouble!

ETA: And have now written another 934 words on the not-useful fic. It just wanted to be written.

Well, I just wrote 885 words of Wartime Nursing scenes for my first Hilditch and key fic, so go me!

The gods only know what writing I'll get done in the coming week, given my work schedule (though I plan on taking my notebook and a reference book with me in case I get any quiet half hours - which isn't inconceivable...)

I wrote about 200 words on my next paper! (Which is due Tuesday and has to be 6-8 pages long... eek. OTOH I actually like the teacher I'm writing it for, which is good!) Then there are two more papers due Friday - one of which also has to be 6-8 pages, but I just have to rewrite it and plug in the references - and that'll be it.

Except for final exams, about which I am being frighteningly cavalier. It works better than stressing. ;-)

Glad you were able to get some writing done -- you seemed to have a pretty productive weekend, congrats! Hope the week goes well -- or as well as it can -- and hang in there!

Thanks. I got a fair bit of research done (amidst the mutterings about non-fiction books without indicies!).

I shall hang on as tightly as I can!

And I wrote about 1000 words of something useful and 4,200 words of random fic that may turn up one day, or may not. :-)

It was fun, though - thanks [livejournal.com profile] pitry and [livejournal.com profile] dbskyler

Thank [personal profile] pitry since it was all her idea! It was definitely good, though -- might have to do it again sometime.

And congratulations on all those words!
