A randomly generated fic rec is simply my way of spreading the fic-love around. While the calufrax recommendations are great, there are too many stories that go unnoticed. This is my attempt to rectify that a little. To mix things up, and to keep myself from getting into a recommendation rut, I go to the Doctor Who Random Pairing Generator, here, then choose a fanfic story to recommend that is related to one or both of the characters that come up. If I can't think of a good story to recommend based on the first pairing of characters, I click again to get a new pairing. My only rule is I will not recommend a story that has already been recommended on calufrax, since that defeats the purpose of spreading recommendations around.

Why the rec: Even though the First Doctor and Turlough did meet in canon in "The Five Doctors," they had hardly any direct interaction on-screen. This fic rectifies that by showing us what happened when the two of them were left alone together while Five, Tegan and Susan were off to the Tomb of Rassilon. Turlough and One spark off each other incredibly well, but in among the snarky fun are some wonderful character moments and true insights into both of these exiles.
