Fic_rush this weekend!

This month's fic_rush starts Friday night at midnight GMT! In case you're not familiar with the awesomeness that is fic_rush, it's a place where people come together for a weekend to encourage each other to write fic. It's a great way to get motivated to write, but it's also lots of fun just to hang out and make jokes about penguins and alien fish. Drop on by and check it out! If you drop in between 1-5 a.m. GMT on Sunday, you'll catch me hosting a shift.

I am way behind on writing something for work, but I hope to get some fanfic writing done this weekend, too. Or perhaps I'll just end up looking at fanfic flamingos all weekend . . . ; D

...the reference to the Fanfic Flamingo makes me wonder if you meant to post this on writethisfanfic? (Just a heads-up that you didn't, if that's what you meant to do. Agh, no wonder my wordcount is going up if I'm producing sentences like this... *g*)

No, I did mean for this to go on my journal and not on writethisfanfic. I'm worried about being "That person who always keeps spamming about fic_rush" on that comm. However, if *you* wanted to post about fic_rush, I would jump in about how great it is . . . *g*

It's hard to judge where that line is between letting people know about fic_rush and spamming people about it, isn't it? Is it okay to do a fic_rush announcement every month? I think it's okay to mention it every month in the comments to the check-in post, and I intend to do that, but a fic_rush announcement every month? I don't know . . .

Sometimes writing can be a good way to recover from work, but yes, I know what you mean. Hope you have a restful weekend, one way or the other!

Not if work's left you lacking in physical energy to such an extent that you've no mental energy either. *I* don't find physical exhaustion promotes *my* creativity.

(I finally understand why people say that tumblr is a time-sink. Some of those fanfic flamingo macros in the archive are hysterical! Then I also came across a similar concept with a manatee . . .)
