Dreamwidth cross-posting
Sep. 11th, 2010 03:43 pmOkay, I am trying out cross-posting from Dreamwidth. Is this working? Hello?
Not sure how much cross-posting I will be doing though, to be honest. I guess it will depend upon how easy this is (does look pretty easy so far), and how much time I end up spending on Dreamwidth vs. LJ. From what I can tell, the LJ Doctor Who communities seem to be far more active. Anyone know any communities like sarahjane_fic and doctoreleven on Dreamwidth?

Date: 2010-09-12 04:12 am (UTC)I might try to instigate a similar comm to sarahjane_fic, we'll see.
(And damn it, I tried to make those comm links, i.e. the DW equivalent of "lj user = doctorwho", but it's not working. I thought that the code was the same as on LJ, except one just had to type "user" instead of "lj user". But obviously I'm doing something wrong, so I reverted back to plain text to get rid of the [Unknown site tag]s that showed up in my preview.)

Date: 2010-09-13 02:52 am (UTC)That might be a good way for you to discover the more active parts of the Dreamwidth fandom.

Date: 2010-09-11 11:07 pm (UTC)Yeah, sluggish communities are a problem on DWth at the moment. I'd love to see an "Import Community" tool, though I imagine it'd be a heck of a lot more involved than their (very successful) "import journal" tool. The only Whoey comm I know of on my rlist is "doctorwho"

Date: 2010-09-12 01:56 am (UTC)As for dreamwidth.... I've searched around and as far as I know doctorwho is the only dreamwidth comm I could really find, and even then that one is barely active. There *are* probably other communities floating around though. You probably have to wait more, dreamwidth may be gaining members but lj is still far more populated and therefore more active.

Date: 2010-09-12 03:37 am (UTC)I have a feeling I'll still be hanging out mostly on LJ, but it's nice to have a little Dreamwidth camp.

Date: 2010-09-12 04:40 am (UTC)The cross-posting works fine.
The lack of communities is one of the only things really holding me back now I think; most of my F'list is migrating. I guess as more of us go over there more communities will show up.
