Well, I've only managed to read short fic in French, but I've really enjoyed everything I've read so far. I honestly don't know how I'd react to the same fic in English, and some of the pleasure might come simply from managing to figure out what happened, but since my enjoyment is real, I'd say that means the fic has been good.
Don't be too impressed, though, as I'm still having to look up words and phrases pretty often. I'm still learning, but it's a fun way to learn.
