random ramblings

Just checking in, 'cause I haven't posted in awhile. Not much to say, though, but let's ramble a little bit:

-- Hope everyone who went to Gallifrey One had a good time! I wanted to go, but then work got in the way. Maybe next year.

-- The writing muse is coming back, although I am still resting "Turn Again." In the meantime, I am considering signing up for 50ficlets because they have a prompt table over there that is really speaking to me, and I like the idea of writing short ficlets. On the other hand, 50. Ack! But I'm sort of thinking of each one as a short chapter instead of a separate story, just a little vignette no more than a couple of hundred words long. How hard can that be? *looks around hopefully* Okay, yeah, I know. I'm still thinking it over. But at least it seems like a nice, laid-back comm that doesn't make you feel bad for dropping a claim.

-- I remember back when I hated prompts, but I find them a lot more inspiring now. Weird, huh?

-- I still hate deadlines, though, and word minimums. Fortunately, 50ficlets has no deadlines and a minimum of 101 words, which is my favorite kind of minimum.

-- I can't believe it's March already. What's happening to time? Oh wait, it ended, right? Well, when can it start up again? I need things to slow down. I also need it to stop raining.

-- I really want an icon with the Eleventh Doctor on it that says "My fandom goes up to 11." I am sure I'm not the first person to think of this, and someone must have made that icon by now -- possibly several someones. Anyone know of anything like that? I'd make it myself except I have zero graphics skills.
