dbskyler: (Sarah SJA)
It's COT time, boys and girls, and I've been dropping in on the three comms that are dedicating themselves to reviewing the nominated fics:

[profile] cotcritiques has anonymous reviews by its creator(s) and invites guest anonymous reviews. It has six posts so far, covering: New Who; Torchwood; New Who; Torchwood; New Who; and (wait for it . . .) Torchwood. Is it just me, or does something seem to be missing? Maybe two somethings?

[profile] cot_inthelight has non-anonymous reviews by anyone (although sock puppets are allowed -- of course, how could they be stopped?). It also has zero posts so far. Now admittedly it's still pretty early on in the COT voting period, but it would be pretty funny if the reason it has no posts is because no one is submitting any reviews. Well, funny to me, anyway.

[profile] cot_reviews has non-anonymous reviews by their review team (positive reviews only). It has four posts so far, and has already covered at least one story from each of the four Who fandoms (New Who, Classic, SJA and Torchwood). Way to go, cot_reviews!!!!

On a second awards front, [profile] smith_awards is winding down, with only a few days left to submit review-votes. I waded in with the full intent of reviewing every story I was even mildly interested in, but then I burned out. I did manage 24 votes, though, so I covered about a third of the 67 nominees. Which is not too shabby, but I do feel sorry that there are fics I read that I just couldn't summon up the energy to review.

And finally, just to round things off on the reviewing front, I am reccing on [community profile] calufrax next week! I'm very excited, but also nervous. I'm trying to put together a set of recs that are diverse enough that most of the wide Who readership will be able to find at least one fic on the list they enjoy (also pretty much guaranteeing that no one besides me will like all of them). It's amazingly hard, and I can't tell you how many times I've swapped things out and around. So apologies in advance to the people I end up not reccing.
