For those of you who don't know, in 1985 "Doctor Who," which had been running for 22 years at that point, was suddenly put on hiatus for 18 months. There was a lot of rumor and speculation at the time as to whether the show would come back at all. As I just found out from one of the "extras" on the "Trial of a Time Lord" DVD (thank you, BBC!), a bunch of people got together and made a music video to help save the show, titled "Doctor in Distress."

It's a "We are the World"-type music video. It was 1985. And it's hilarious. I spotted cameos by Colin Baker, Nick Courtney and Anthony Ainley . . someone better than me at identifying people want to take a stab at some others?

We learnt to accept six Doctors,
With companions at their side,
When they were faced with danger,
They didn't run, they didn't hide,
