Just finished detailing the scenes for chapter two of my WIP "Turn Again," and wow, it looks like it's going to be a lot longer than I had thought it would be. Based on the plot outline, I hadn't thought it would take up that many scenes. Hmm.

Meanwhile, as I'm now starting to think in terms of specific scenes instead of overall plot outline, I have a feeling that chapter three might turn out on the short side when it's written up. Which logically would suggest that I change where the break is between chapters two and three, but I like where the break is. Besides being a great moment (well, I hope it will come out that way, anyway), it's a natural point of transition where what happens next really is very different from what came before. Kind of like the break between chapters one and two.

I'll see what happens as I actually dive into it. Maybe chapter two will take fewer words than I currently think and chapter three more. Or maybe I'll end up taking stuff out / throwing additional stuff in (if I can think of any), or maybe I'll just let both chapters be the length they come out. (Six thousand word chapter two and one thousand word chapter three, why not?)

in the meantime, I've been mentally debating if I should post chapter one to Teaspoon or wait until the fic is farther along. There's something to be said for waiting (it's nicer for the readers), but it does help to encourage my writing when I get reviews. Of course, that's assuming I would get reviews . . . although I have already gotten comments here on LJ, so even if Teaspoon is a bust, it would still be okay.
