Spoilers: Spoilers for "Doomsday." Written before S4 and not compliant with "Journey's End," so I guess this is AU now.

Why the rec: I shouldn't like this story. It's Doctor/Rose post-Doomsday Reunion Fic, and I usually hate those. I am especially likely to hate the Reunion Fics that are Doctor/Rose OTP, and, well, this story is pretty much one of those, too. But . . . I started reading this and couldn't stop. The premise is very original, the writing is excellent and the story just keeps you needing to know what happens next (at least, it did with me). And overall it is so well done that I can't imagine anyone reading this and not acknowledging it as an amazing piece of writing, even if they don't enjoy the plot themselves. And the more you know about classic Who, the more amazed you are likely to be.
