Friday rambles

Now that I've figured out the html code for posting a picture on LJ, I have to see if I can manage to get the lovely illustration that [personal profile] tempestas_inu drew for me of a scene from "Miles from Aberdeen" onto the fic itself at Teaspoon. Wish me luck!

Changing the subject completely, but has anyone seen Casanova with David Tennant? I just started watching some of it, and it's a bit of a trippy experience -- like watching the Tenth Doctor pretending to be a Venetian womanizer. I've seen David in other roles and never before been reminded of the Doctor, but there are so many scenes in Casanova where he sounds exactly the same, it just keeps hitting me in the face. I suppose it's not too surprising considering that Casanova was written by RTD, and David used the same accent for both roles (or close enough to my ignorant American ears), but the result is a very surreal experience.

And that's it for the rambling. I'd love to give an update on my writing, but it's currently dead in the water again. I'm busy tomorrow, but I'm going to sit down on Sunday and see how much of a marathon session I can pull off.

Oh dear, Casanova.

I ordered it cheap off Amazon after laughing myself silly at the confessional scene on Youtube. Then I watched it with my room mates and we all found it hilarious and now have far too many in jokes based on it. Chief among them being the fact that:
NAPLES DOES NOT EXIST.

I know, what was up with the Naples thing? I mean, I've been to Naples, and it sure looked like there were people there to me!

The confessional scene is indeed awesome.

It's funny how we both share this delusion of having visited Naples (I went there this spring) when the place clearly can't exist, because those scenes at the end of the movie clearly didn't happen...

Yes, and I've also hallucinated having really amazing pizza in Naples -- I must need help! :D
