Fanfic is imminent

I have finally written something again! It's in the "let it rest then do another edit" phase, so it should be finished and posted soon.

The fic is in a new-to-me fandom: Lucifer. It's a show that I started watching not that long ago, then got completely sucked into. I finished binging it last week, and I immediately wanted to write fanfic for it. It's nice to genuinely feel fannish about a show again.

It's a little intimidating to write for Lucifer, though, because it's a popular fandom and I really don't know the fandom culture at all. Although I did take a peek at some of the fanfic for it on AO3. So far, there seems to be one character that everyone hates, and some interesting ships that I wouldn't have guessed would be popular.

As for this fic I've written, I have absolutely no idea if it is a new idea, or if I've just written the most common trope in the fandom. It's a little weird to be standing on the outside, looking into a completely new fannish space. But a little fun, too.

Oh, congratulations! I enjoyed Lucifer, too, although I haven't yet seen the last season. What's your fic about?

I can't tell you, because it's a missing scene for the very last episode of the show. But thanks for the reminder to give a spoiler warning for it.

I've seen up to the end of s5, but not any of s6. So I will have to be patient till I can read your fic. XD

Wasn't s5 fun? I laughed so hard at the family dinner, and when Lucifer and God went to Linda for therapy. "Why don't you have a desk? Why doesn't your car have a roof? Why's your kitchen just a wall of Scotch?"

And then when Lucifer went to heaven to go get Chloe, OMG. That's one of the things I really like about the show, how it can have both laugh-out-loud humor and emotionally wrenching scenes.

s5 was fun, although it was difficult for me to watch because unfortunately my dvd had major sound issues, with the music track being way too low - which in some shows might have been ok, but not with Lucifer! Totally ruined the musical episode, as you may imagine. But, yeah, the episodes seemed like otherwise they should have been great, such a lot of fun stuff going on.

Oh no! Music plays an important role in the show, so that would definitely detract from the experience, especially the musical episode!

Aw, thank you! That is pretty much what I did after struggling to get through the ep at the time - go to YT and get it to supply the actual numbers for me. At least the rest of it was still mostly watchable, but it was no way to treat a musical ep!! <3
