anyone want a Dreamwidth invite code?

I've been on Dreamwidth for . . . let's see now, four days? And this morning I got a notification that they have sent me an invite code to pass on. The email notification said that new invite codes were being sent to "select accounts," which I suspect means any account that was newly created since LJ announced the Facebook/Twitter mess. *g*

So, one invite code, up for grabs! Comment here and I will PM it to you. First come first served, and I don't care who you are -- on my flist, a casual commenter, someone I've never interacted with before, it's all good! I think everyone who wants an account at Dreamwidth should be able to create one for free, regardless of whether they already know someone who has an account or not.

If you see that someone's already taken the code but you want one too, feel free to comment anyway and I'll see if I can hook you up.

I guess I should have one in case of migration?

It's yours! You can hold onto it in case you ever want to use it in the future, or you can do what I did and create a placeholder account now. I'll shortly PM you with the code; let me know if you don't get it!

Thankee, got it! :)

Yeah, I just sat and created a placeholder account. I'm not planning on leaving LJ, TBH, but just in case :)

I have two of them to share, should anyone else want aboard. ^_^

They gave you two? I only got one. Humph. Although I suspect they would give me more if I asked, especially if I told them I wanted to bring people over from LiveJournal.

I got two because I have two accounts, heh... one for 'me' and one for my writing archive. One is gone now, btw - but I still have one up for grabs for anyone else who hasn't joined the DW party yet.

And...it's gone. Sorry - if I get more, I'll let people know!

Been on DWth a while, myself - I'm sure I could fix you up with one if you like.

Go the list here: http://community.livejournal.com/lj_releases/61333.html?thread=4109461#t4109461

I just checked, and they are all still working as of right now, which means no one has used them yet.

These codes are publicly posted, so it's better if you use one to open an account right away, because once someone uses one, it's no longer valid.

(Do it! Do it! You know you want to . . . *g*)

If you prefer not to open an account right now, or if you couldn't snag one of these before they all got used, I will reserve the next code I get from DW for you.

Thanks so much! *hug* I made an account just now. http://tempestas-inu.dreamwidth.org/

Haven't posted anything yet though cuz' I gotta run.

Really not interested in migrating to dreamwidth - not least beause my LJ account's paid up until Jan 2012!

Wow, 2012? Yes, that's definitely reason to stay.

I just grabbed an invite code while the grabbing was good. I figure it's always nice to have options, and I can't say I'm happy about the direction LJ seems to be taking. It might still get worked out, though -- we'll see.

Yes - three friends each bought me some paid time recently, and between them they renewed my account until Jan 2012.
