because I'm still bemused by Casanova . . .

I mean, I know it's Casanova, not the Doctor, but David is using the same accent, and a lot of the same mannerisms, and damn it, I give up, here, have a video of the Doctor confessing to a priest about all the sex he's been having lately.

I do love Casanova so! Makes me laugh to see the Doctor sleeping his way around Europe...

I think the similarities came about because we have the same writer, the same actor, and the same wonderful balance between light-heartedness and heaviness. There are moments in Casanova where he is -totally- different to the Doctor, and we had moments in DW where he was different to Casanova, so I think that if you were to do some Venn diagram then there would be an overlap in characteristics.

Probably around the "decent bloke", sense of humour, quirky mannerisms, does what he wants and deals with the consequences stuff...
