vote on a weekend for fic_rush!

[community profile] fic_rush is holding a poll for the scheduling of round 4 and I thought I'd advertise it here because fic_rush is awesome, and because it's even more awesome when more people participate.

What is fic_rush? It's a writing community where, for one weekend, people in the community all work on whatever they wish to write and check in with each other on an hourly basis to celebrate or agonize (depending on how the writing is going) and just generally give each other support and encouragement and commiseration. There is no time commitment requirement -- participate for as much or as little of the weekend as you like, and feel free to drop in and out as often as your mood / writing muse / real-life schedule dictates.

If you think you might want to do it (and I highly encourage everyone to give it a try), drop on by the poll and put in your vote for the best weekend to hold round 4! Because I would love to see more of my flist over there. : )

(The people already in the community are all really nice, though, so no need to worry. It's a very positive, supportive environment. If you want to see what the hourly posts are like, check out [community profile] fic_rush_48.)

Hmm, I tend (generally) to write considerably less on weekends...

It might not be for you, then. Although "tend to" doesn't mean you don't write any . . . ; )

No, it doesn't - but as a general rule, my weekends are more about viewing/listening than writing as I catch up on TV stuffs or films or audios. I probably will write a fair bit again this weekend and next because I'm trying to finish up Holiday Gift fics for my FList, but in the new year, I'll doubtless be back to writing less unless a Herman seizes me and won't let go!

Heh, and I have to actually go and do other things. Although I definitely plan some more writing of one of my fics. But I could do with someone to tell me off for fic-writing and to go and do something else!!

Have fun, I remember you posting about it last time. And if it means we see more fic from you, that's always a good thing.

Even if I still have some of yours to catch up on. Eek!

Seeing as how people often post about how they've spent the last hour doing things other than writing, we'd be happy to congratulate you on that if that's what you want . . . : )

if it means we see more fic from you, that's always a good thing.

It definitely helps me. Not only am I a slow writer, but I am amazingly good at finding ways to spend my time not writing. (Sadly, this usually means I'm not doing anything else productive either; I just am busily engaged in not writing. "Reviewing canon," aka watching DVDs, is a favorite way to accomplish this.)

Heh - except keeping posting on an LJ comm instead - well, I'd be better off writing! The second the pc is on I'm distracted by something.

...And - how is it going, then? (But don't answer that till you've got to the end of a chapter, of course.)

Oh, I think everyone will know when I've gotten to the end of the next chapter! I might post an interim update, but only if I have something more to say than "yeah, still working on that . . ."

You know you got me into fic_rush in the first place, right? For which, thank you muchly.

(I think I was stalking Prim's flist and found these posts... and then asked SoR if there were going to be any more 'rushes, which got it started up again, and then I also got Beth/lolmac involved. *g* I feel rather like the comm's godmother at this point!)

Well, thank you for joining fic_rush! And triple thanks for providing the impetus to get it going again, and for getting [personal profile] lolmac involved!

(It's weird, because while you know that other people might read your entries because they're friends of your flist, you don't think that actually happens that much . . . let alone that someone would get involved in a comm because you happened to talk about it.)
