I am fed. I should start writing... in 5 minutes. :)
I'm going to have to track both your posts. Huzzah for overflowing inboxes! (The next indispensable feature of fic_rush.)
Ack, now I'm wanting to write one of those "You Know It's Fic_Rush When" things. I have school essays due weeks ago! *scrambles*

Oh. If it's fic_rush, I should be using my alien fish icon! *changes*
Yay!
I have to make a proper start on my Yuletide fic, so this seems like a good idea. :-)

I'm confused... Is it fic_rush?
ETA: Just checked the comm and there's no post to say when the next round is... Guess I'm not invited to the party.

Now I finally start writing... I hope.
Managed to get organized for work, and now I am hungry. So I'm going to eat lunch first.
Any alien fish sightings yet? Any penguins?

Before I had dinner, I wrote 993 words. Granted I didn't know we were having a fake_rush, but that still counst, right?
Am now off to use what is left of my brain on sorting out the next
dw_straybunnies random monthly prompt.

400 words in the last hour. I'm slowly becoming inspired. Mind, I've just been inspired to do something completely nasty, but it's an inspiration nonetheless!
Arrghh! I just spent over an hour downloading a Windows version of a file when I need the Mac version. Starting over.
This is turning into a very unproductive day.

I'm starting to think The Moody Blues are bad writing music. I'm switching to Kula. Maybe that'll get me WRITING!
I tried to get a snack out of a vending machine before English class, so as to have some blood sugar with which to deal with my annoying professor... instead, the vending machine ATE MY $5 BILL! *glares* (And I have no idea what to do about it.)
On the other hand, I just turned in one of my papers - now I've just to write/finish three more o_O for this class and one for another class. Gah.

Hmpf. I kinda feel bad about commenting cos about 60% of the comments in this thread have my microwave in them!
Anyway, overall tonight around 1,100 words. I'm kinda getting tired, I probably should go to sleep and wake up tomorrow with no need to do laundry and battle floodings and have the energy to write...

I ended up going out tonight instead of writing. Just got back, and it's almost midnight, so I am now going to bed instead of writing. Hopefully some progress will be made tomorrow!
I'm baaaack! Spamming your journal all alone, I suspect.
Have written 330 words, and then got distracted by the shiny internet. Also, the fuzzy animals survived the fire! Hooray! When I went to sleep last night they were assumed to not have survived.

I haven't written any actual words yet...
BUT! I have wrangled a plot bunny!
In a severe case of tempting Fate/Plot Bunnies, I asked my FList what original fiction character they'd like to see me write (ie not a character from a fandom) - and someone gave me "a scholar researching a mystery, preferably historical". I realised that I didn't have a 'career' lined up for Ms Dora Hilditch of my 'Hilditch & Key' original fic story (paranormal detectives in an Alternate History - how many genres can I mash?!) - although the other four characters all have jobs/careers: Dr Maryam Sabeti is a WW1 VAD turned doctor training to be a psychiatrist; Edward Jesson is a former lawyer turned Detective Inspector; Jimmy Locke is a genius mechanic; and Ms Hilda Key (nee Hildegarde Kerbitz) is a female German equivalent to Alan Turing.
So now Hilditch is an amateur scholar with an interest in Out of Place Artefacts who'll end up investigating several OOP Artefacts turned up during work by the Imperial War Graves Commission to create cemetaries and memorials to the dead of WW1.
So, one plot bunny duly tamed!
Only problem is - this is too much to fit into the current fic, which means I'll be writing a sequel to 'The Mysterious Lodge'. Oh well!

OMG. This chapter WILL NOT END! I know the exact point it ends... it keeps on getting farther and farther away from me!
I am awake. I am thinking about writing. I am also thinking about breakfast. And thinking about whether I want to go out and buy sufganyot for breakfast (which I will have to call doughnuts or no one will know what I'm talking about), or whether I will just eat what I have here.
Or perhaps I'll lie in bed with my cats a little longer. They're awfully cute.

I've just rattled out 207 words of the introduction of a new (scholarly) character to one of my main characters in the Hilditch and Key sequel.
This is SO not what I should be writing (I should be writing the first H&K fic!) - but there you go. Rampageous plot bunny is wilful and obstreperous!

I just wrote 920 words of something that's no use to anyone, but then I failed to sleep properly yet again, which is my standard thing for Friday nights these days - v irritating!
Yay for other people writing, though! :-)

I have been putting around and not writing. But I am now going to write! It will happen!
Well, attempting to write will happen. Whether any words actually come out remains to be seen . . .

I'm just back from a Stargate watching date... it's past midnight so I don't expect to get a lot written, but I'm hoping to add a couple more words to this monster!fic.
...Still need to go back and, like, actually write part 1, mind.

I think I may have reached a point in the fic that wants to be the end of the chapter. Regardless of whether I end the chapter here or not, I am definitely still mostly in editing mode as opposed to writing mode, so I'm going to stop pushing on creating words and let my muse do what it obviously wants to do, which is continue to work on this chapter (or this section of the chapter) and polish it up until I am fully happy with it. That's important progress, although it will unfortunately not add significantly to my word count.
Got all my chores done, so I'm going to see if I can do some writing...
Well, I just wrote 885 words of Wartime Nursing scenes for my first Hilditch and key fic, so go me!
The gods only know what writing I'll get done in the coming week, given my work schedule (though I plan on taking my notebook and a reference book with me in case I get any quiet half hours - which isn't inconceivable...)
