I think I've figured out the problem . . .

I've been working on my second ficlet for [profile] 50ficlets and it's going fairly well, actually -- in fact, I think it might be ready to post tomorrow. But in the course of creating this (currently) 512-word ficlet, I have written an additional 1,134 words. That's what's in my scratch file right now.

I think I may have just figured out why I'm a slow writer . . .

Yay, fic!! \O/

Um, there's quite a difference between 512 words and 1134 words - as in the latter's more than double the former... :D

I mean, keeping things down can be a problem sometimes. Luckily, I chose a show that's ideal for short, random scenes, but I do Blake's 7 ficlets sometimes too, and trying to keep them from growing over the requisite 500 words is tough!

Aw. Still, if you mean to turn it all into one story one day, will the excess words come in handy then?

You can always go for the short and long version of the same story! That would be quite fun, actually.
