I agree with tempestas_inu -- in "Big Bang" they said that Amy's memory was special because she grew up with the crack in her bedroom wall. The fact that she was locked up for 2000 years in the Pandorica may have had an effect, too.
On the other hand, I stopped looking too closely at the logic of "The Big Bang" a long time ago, because as soon as you start to look closely at it, it doesn't make a lick of sense. It's a big muddle, but I still found it an enjoyable muddle, and I enjoyed writing this fic around it. I certainly believe that Sarah had residual memories of the Doctor, and I bet other companions did, too.
