my first ficathon
I have screwed up my courage and entered my very first ficathon over at ![[profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/silk/identity/user.png)
dw_historical. Two things encouraged me to do it -- first, the story only has to be 500 words, which seems doable; and second, it's the type of ficathon where I got to look at the list of prompts and claim the one I wanted to write. Which is a lot less stress-inducing than seeing what prompt I get assigned. And since I saw a prompt that really intrigued me, I decided to go for it.
I'm a little nervous because I have never done a ficathon before in any fandom and I'm not one of those people who can sit down and churn out a story quickly. So the whole deadline thing is a little scary. But at least I'm interested in the prompt, and I kind of have an idea already for it. So, here it goes: 500+ words, ready or not!
